Why Education Is My Thing
I was at a conference that I didn’t want to be at anymore. Education was the reason I attended, but I ended up wanted to be in education. I had discovered a dream problem I didn’t know I had.
This was the beginnings of Glad Academics. I was pursuing real life financial education knowing it would help me in my life journeys. I was convincing myself that I wanted to pursue financial education long-term, and possibly as a career. But, I asked this question at the conference:
If you had enough money, what would you do with it?
My answer was: build a school. That answer came natural to me and at the time, I already had experience tutoring and teaching at a teach for a bit. But, I knew I couldn’t stay at the conference. My next step was to get into education.
I Want To Be Here
I openly tell my students that I am in education because I want to be. If I wanted to do something different, I would do it. I am pursuing a purpose, and it is tied to the development of other people, especially students.
Time Investment
If I must spend 20 years on the journey, I will. My goal is to build sustainably, so I can take my time to create demand and feel good about it.
Money Investment
I am investing my own money into the research process, building assets, and inspiring others.
Benefits
Here are some of the general benefits I am pursuing and developing in myself along the way:
- Credibility
- Leverage
- Training
- etc.
